Dr. Amanda Kane
Dr. Amanda Kane opened Gentle Gynecology in 2021 to bring kind, compassionate, skilled gynecologic care to south Sarasota County. She feels right at home here in Venice because she grew up in a small town on the Connecticut shoreline. She was drawn to medicine because it combines her love for science, health, and helping others. The specialty of Ob-Gyn was an easy choice because she loves building lasting relationships with her patients, listening to their concerns, and improving their quality of life with the latest medical and surgical treatments. She is Board Certified and has a passion for minimally invasive surgery techniques including vaginal surgery and Da Vinci robotic surgery. She has worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, as a private practice Ob-Gyn in Clearwater, and as an OB Hospitalist. She is married to Dr. Steven Kane, an Ophthalmologist who also practices in Venice. They have three beautiful children and enjoy spending time outdoors.

Kara Grangaard, PA-C
Kara Grangaard joined Gentle Gynecology in 2024. She is committed to helping women feel safe, respected, and well-informed about their healthcare. Kara takes pride in creating a comfortable and supportive environment where women can confidently make decisions about their health. Growing up immersed in the arts, she developed a deep appreciation for the human body and health while pursuing a professional dance career in New York City. Her career as a Physician Assistant has allowed her to craft a unique perspective on the interconnected nature of gynecology and female urology. After gaining extensive clinical experience in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she returned to her hometown of Venice to be closer to family. She is excited to raise her daughters in the vibrant community that shaped her. Outside of work, Kara enjoys spending time with loved ones, staying active outdoors, and supporting the arts.
